Mrs. Anna Marie (Guzzardo) Stys, 59, beloved wife of Gerald (Jerry) Stys, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 18, 2002 at her home after a courageous five year battle with cancer.

She was born in Utica, a daughter of Vincent and Mary Chudy Guzzardo, and was a graduate of Utica Catholic Academy. After the untimely death of her mother, she was cared for by her Aunt Fran and Aunt Lydia. Anna had been employed for a number of years with Mohawk Containers and by the Oneida Container Co. in Vernon.

On June 10, 1961, she was united in marriage with Gerald J. Stys at St. Peter’s Church in Utica.

Besides her husband, Jerry, she leaves two sons, Mark and his wife, Carolyn Stys, Milton, Ma., and Jeffrey Stys, Houston, TX; Two daughters, Cynthia and her husband, Michael Wilcox, Charlotte, NC, and Michele O’Neill, Lake Peekskill, NY; as well six cherished grandchildren
